The wifi addicted family:
Have you seen how just before dinner and may be a few minutes after it, everyone, literally everyone including the parents get back to checking out their smartphone. On the pretext of checking mails, or probably entertaining themselves on the social media platforms or even doing informative reading or watching news.
How would it be if everyone could escape outdoors?!
Imagine taking those little munchkins on an adventurous outing or a fun night camping or on a safari! You cannot even comprehend the amount of fun and excitement those tiny brains will experience when you pry them and yourselves away from all kinds of work distractions and the smart devices' screens.
There are companies that offer you the world quite literally!
There are so many companies out there who are constantly investing and recreating packages to suit people of all ages and interests. There is so much out there to do that staying indoors will sound clichéd to you once you get used to the idea of escaping into the wild.
Smith, the guy at the travel agency that we interviewed had to say this when we parted after a brief interview on the south African safari trip that my wife and I wanted to go with our children. He says that about ninety percent o his customers are those that come back even before the next vacations are round the corner. And that is because they want to be able to plan everything in advance in order to avoid any kind of glitches.
Incidentally, he says these are the same people who were once so reluctant to pack their suitcases! But, with time and a couple of travel on them gives them such a good high that they are always reading up on some or the other places to visit and regularly come up for advice on vacationing there the next time they get the chance!
Seeing the world through your child’s eyes:
They will have the curiosity to see everything that your experienced eyesight has taken for granted. Some of their questions will make you ponder as to why you never thought about something so obvious.
More than all the material things that you can ever endow your future generation, you must strive to inculcate the inquisitiveness in their fresh minds and give them the gift of being able to reason and find out things on their own by observing and touching rather than seeing it on the various screens and only imagining.
The perks of inculcating curiosity:
Research has categorically shown that children who have higher curiosity are the one who develop a scientific temper later in their formative years and they are ones who have IQ at the higher levels. In contrast, children who have not been taken outdoors and given a love for seeing and doing by touching fair lower on such parameters as having scientific temper and also the will to be academically oriented.
When in Rome, do what the Romans do:
One of the biggest advantages of travel is that children and adult both develop empathy. Now this is one trait that is as much wanted today as it ever was. So, when you travel to a new country to a culture which is far apart from the one that you are born in and brought up in, you realize that there are these cultures that are far removed from yours and at the same time so beautiful and thriving.
You are teaching the younger folks that it is okay to be different and still be able to adjust and assimilate into alien cultures. This skill will come in handy once they grow up and fly away from the nest! And you will thank yourself that you were thoughtful enough to train them even when they were young.
